Project Details

Arevon is proud to be building the Southern Magnolia Project, located in Scott County, Missouri.

Here is a snapshot of the project:

Size

349 megawatt AC

Location

Scott County, Missouri. The power will be transmitted to the Southern Magnolia-Miner 161kV Line (Ameren).

Land Area

According to the independent study based on 349 MW, the project will have a footprint of approximately 2,500 acres of land to locate solar panel arrays, an operations and maintenance building, inverters, and access roads.

Investment

$448 million local estimated investment based off of 349 MW.

Power Generation

349 MW generates enough solar energy to power the average electricity consumption of approximately 66,000 Missouri homes each year.

Land Area

Once constructed, the project has a 35-year useful life. After this time, it will be decommissioned in accordance with a decommissioning plan and bond.

Economic Development Study

An independent study conducted in September 2023 by Strategic Economic Research, LLC and authored by Dr. David G. Loomis a Professor of Economics at Illinois State University, estimates that based on 349 MW, the Southern Magnolia Project would bring broad economic benefits to Scott County, including:

Construction Jobs

During construction, the project will create up to 440 jobs.

Operations Jobs

Full-time employment for workers overseeing operations and maintenance for the expected 35-year project life.

Taxes

Property taxes in excess of $34.8 million in total. $27.9 million to school districts.

Gross Domestic Product

A contribution of $63.2 million to Scott County’s GDP during construction with another $3.3 million per year during operations.
